About us.

We are Karl and Lina- Karl, originally from New Zealand, found his way to Stockholm- and Lina- after a few years working in New York. A former chef, Karl is the one in charge of our delicious breakfast. During the warmer seasons, the berries and vegetables we serve are coming straight from Lina´s green house in the garden. Our small company Noy Rd. also landed on both feet here in Vadstena. Sustainable home textiles which are used in the B&B for all guests

Welcome to our piece of heaven.

Previously based in Sweden's capital, working as photographers, our lives were defined by the fast-pace of city life. Through travelling the world, and especially through our several trips to New Zealand visiting family, we nurtured a dream of a different life. Staying at B&Bs in Northern New Zealand, we realised that this, perhaps, was something we could not only do but enjoy: to create a place where our family would love to visit ourselves.

We did not envision a standard hotel, but instead we imagined something private and personal; we saw a place where you let your shoulders down and just exhale. We started looking for that special place which we saw in our minds, almost ending up somewhere else in the process, until we found our lovely King's Manour House; we fell in love. Kungs Starby Gård previously belonged to King Gustav Vasa, whose inauguration marks Sweden's national day. Noting this history, and King Vasa's strong involvement in Vadstena's historical landmarks, including having the Vadstena Castle built in 1545, we took inspiration from the intertwining of serene town-life and remarkable history. Natural materials, calm Scandinavian colours and nothing to distract the mind from Vadstena's raw beauty. Located just at the South entrance to the town of Vadstena, with a six-minute walk to the castle, our two hectares of private park, protected by old tall trees, ensure a quiet and relaxing stay in our piece of heaven.
